At the Italian Table –
“A tavola non s’invecchia mai” – At table one never ages.
Old Italian Saying
In the true style of an Italian osteria, At the Italian Table on Frankfort Avenue, between the Crescent Hill and Clifton neighborhoods, offers authentic regional cuisine from Italy. The atmosphere is old-world Italian and dining is informal and friendly. The Italian wine list is extensive and chosen to compliment the food, and the wines are very reasonably priced. The two communal tables seat 10 each and make for a fun evening of great synergy, conversation and laughter. We welcome individuals, couples, small and large groups to join us for a fun evening of Italian food and wine! The menu changes each day and is based on what is in season and fresh. Chef Gina Stipo chooses and prepares the five-course meal for you, which includes an antipasto, fresh pasta or risotto, a meat and vegetable, salad course, and dessert.
Our communal dinners are served Wednesday-Saturday at 7 p.m. Upon arrival, you are offered a welcoming aperitivo. When everyone is ready, we go to table and begin with an antipasto, continuing with the fresh pasta and main courses. After dinner, dessert is served and espresso offered. Many of the ingredients for the meal have been brought back from Italy by Chef Gina on her frequent trips, or are sourced from local farmers. The herbs come from our extensive herb garden outside.
Whether you’ve been to Italy and long to recreate the beauty and style of your dining experience there, or you dream of Italy and would love to eat like an Italian for an evening, or you are searching for an interesting way to enjoy a meal out, At the Italian Table on Frankfort Ave is Tutto Italiano! – everything Italian.
*These communal dinners do not include a cooking class or demonstration.
You can join us on your own or with your spouse and make new friends around the table, chatting about shared experiences over a glass of wine and excellent meals that reflect the home-cooking of Italy’s many regions. Bring a group of family or friends to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.
Chef Gina spent 14 years in Tuscany where she had a cooking school, Ecco La Cucina, and she offers demonstration cooking classes for 8-10 people every Tuesday from 6:30-9:30. Fresh pasta is always on the menu and is hands-on, informative and fun. The class includes an antipasto, which is eaten during class, fresh pasta or gnocchi, and dessert, which are enjoyed at the table at 9:00 pm. Wine is available from our extensive wine list.
We welcome you to join us for a delicious dinner or for a hands on cooking class soon!

Cancellation Policy and Payment Details: Regretfully, a number of recent cancellations has caused us to change our cancellation policy to more appropriately align ourselves with similar restaurants in the industry. We try to be as flexible as possible and understand that cancellations are occasionally going to happen. When you make a reservation via Open Table, you will need to put in your credit card information. That information is only accessed if you fail to show up for your reservation, at which point you will be charged for the dinners.
We are a small dining concept and are booked weeks in advance. We honor all reservations made and do not overbook nor bump you out of your reserved seats, but we understand that occasionally a reservation may need to be cancelled. While we may have a waiting list and will try to fill the empty seats, please understand that may be impossible at short notice. If you need to cancel for any reason, please try and fill the seats you have reserved. If you cannot, you will be charged for the reservation.
NOTE our cancellation policy, effective 2/1/19: Any cancellation made one week prior to the reservation will be charged 50%. Cancellations made within 4 days before the reservation will be charged 100%. No shows will be charge 100% for the dinner. If you arrive with less than the number of people you reserved for, you will be charged for the number reserved, not the number that actually come for dinner.
